Dua For Entering The Masjid and LeavinThe Masjid

about pride in islam

What Is Kibr?

Kibr is the name of a psychic state in which a person feels a sense of superiority and behaves high-handedly with others. Its signs are discernible in his actions and its symptoms are clearly noticed by others by which they know that he is proud.

Kibr is something different from ‘ujb, and, as mentioned earlier, this vice is the offspring and fruit of the tree of ‘ujb. ‘Ujb consists of self-love and conceit, and the meaning of kibr is to consider oneself superior to others. When someone perceives a merit in himself and is overcome by a sense of pleasure, exultation, and vanity, that state is called ‘ujb.

[Quran: Al Ahzab Chapter 33]

As far as the Creator (whose proper name is Allah) is concerned, you will be able to identify Him and get to know Him, His role and your relationship to His names, you will be able to communicate with Him any time, 24 hours a day, throughout the whole year. As a result of this category, you will be able to know your origin, your roots and the wisdom as to why you are on this planet. You will be able to have good answers to the questions why, how, when, where, what and other philosophical questions

2. As a result of the first benefit, your loyalty, allegiance, and obedience will be to the Creator himself. You will transcend yourself from all types of allegiance for this world. This means that if there is a conflict of interest between your boss, your job, your government, your system or any worldly relationship with the Creator, you will undoubtedly put your trust in Allah, the Creator of the universe. You will follow Him before you follow anyone else.

3. As a result of the second benefit, you will be able to acquire peace, harmony, tranquility and happiness within yourself, with your family, with people of the world, with the environment and with the universe. One has to remember that the source of peace is Allah, and one of his beautiful names is that He is The Peace.

4. As an endorsement to the third benefit, you will get rid of the extra electrostatic charges from your brain and the central nervous system by performing the daily Salah. Through Salah, you are to prostrate by putting your forehead to the floor; and as such are grounding yourself, and you are discharging these extra charges into the ground. As a result of this act, you will get rid of many of the neurological diseases from your body.

6. Through the experience of fasting in Islam, you will be able to have self-control, self-restraint, self-discipline, self-education, self-evaluation, and self-obedience to Allah the Creator. You undoubtedly will be able to improve health, personality, character, and behavior.

7. As a result of the sixth benefit, you will be able to control your lusts, selfishness, desires, greed, ego, and conceitedness.

8. Another side reaction of the sixth and seventh benefits is that you will be generous and hospitable; you will try to purify yourself and your mistakes by sharing your happiness and your wealth with those who are less fortunate than you. Your rewards will manifold, compounded daily until the Day of Judgment.

9. By performing pilgrimage to Makkah, you will transcend yourself from being nationalistic, sectarian, or denominational into being universal. You will be part and an essential constituent of the rainbow of Islam. You will be also part of the brotherhood of Islam with those who already submitted themselves to the Creator. At the same time, you will get rid of any inferiority or superiority complexes. You will also find yourself in synchrony and harmony with all the prophets and messengers of Allah since the creation of Adam and Eve until the last final messenger to mankind, prophet Muhammad (pbuh). While in Makkah, you will be able to visit the places of revelation of the Quran as well as the places visited by prophet Abraham and members of his family such as Hagar and Ishmael. You will visit the place where the first astronauts, Adam and Eve landed on earth.

10. In becoming a Muslim, you will do your best to stop all types of exploitations in all their forms: economic, biological, mental, spiritual, psychological, political, etc.. You will also work to liberate people and give them freedom of worship, freedom of speech, and freedom of expression. You will be a leader and help lead people to peace, tranquility and happiness.

11. In accepting Islam, you will help to reduce all types of social ills in the society: juvenile delinquency, child abuse, domestic abuse, incest, homosexuality, sexual promiscuity, premarital relationships, extramarital relationships, and other vices.

12. As a result of the eleventh benefit, you will reduce and eliminate venereal diseases, AIDS, and other diseases of similar nature in the society.

13. Finally, when you die, you will die at peace. You will have a happy life in the grave and later, eternal happiness. Angels at the time of death will comfort you. They will also show you your place in paradise. On the Day of Judgment, you will be able to see and meet all the prophets and messengers of God to mankind including Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad. You will be able to see and meet any and all of your friends and relatives. You will live an eternal life of bliss in paradise.

Reflections:

The benefits mentioned above and many more cannot be purchased with money anywhere in the world. No one is to sell them to you or to advertise them on TV. You have to take the initiative yourself and try to acquire them by accepting Islam first and then by practicing its teachings. You should be honest with yourself, sincere, and truthful to the Creator. You should try wholeheartedly to practice what you believe, regardless of whether someone else is good or not While seeking happiness is a must, it should not be measured with other people's standards or with material gains. Happiness is from its potential to its kinetic forms. People around you should feel your happiness as well as benefit from you.

Are you ready to accept this challenge today? Remember, tomorrow may not come, and it will be too late?

Quran,Hadith & Islamic Knowledge

Islam calls us to seek knowledge. The Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) made seeking knowledge an obligation upon every Muslim, and he explained that the superiority of the one who has knowledge over the one who merely worships is like the superiority of the moon over every other heavenly body

There is no God but Allah and Muhammad (PBUH) is the Messenger of Allah.
A British man came to Sheikh and asked:
Why is it not permissible in Islam for women to shake hands with a man?
The Sheikh said:
Can you shake hands with Queen Elizabeth?
British man said:
Of course no, there are only certain people who can shake hands with Queen Elizabeth.
Sheikh replied:
Our women are queens and queens do not shake hands with strange men.
Then the British man asked the Sheikh:
Why do your girls cover up their body and hair?
The Sheikh smiled and got two sweets, he opened the first one and kept the other one closed. He threw them both on the dusty floor and asked the British:
If I ask you to take one of the sweets which one will you choose?
The British replied:
The covered one.
The Sheikh said:
That’s how we treat and see our woman...

There are six sunnats of drinking

Drinking
     There are five sunnats of drinking:
1.   Never drink from a bottle (carbon dioxide is released in the bottle).
2.   Do not drink from the mug's cleft and do not breathe in the beverage.
3.   Drink in three drafts. (sips). The Holy Prophet Peace and blessings be upon him has said:
      "The water quenches the thirst and is sanitary."
4.   Invoke Allah (s.w) when you drink and praise him when you finish. It is reported in a hadith that the
      Holy Prophet Peace and blessings be upon him said:
      "Do not drink the water in one draft just like camels but drink it in one or three gushes,
      and  invoke Allah (s.w) when you drink and praise him when you finish."
5.   Do not drink while standing up.
      The Holy Prophet Peace and blessings be upon him used to drink while sitting. This way was his usual guidance. It was true that
      he prohibited a person to drink while standing and infact he ordered the standing drinker to vomit
      this water as he drank it while standing up. One group of people have stated that this order was just
      to guide people and to adopt the best option. Drinking Zam Zam water is permissible while
      standing up as the Holy Prophet Peace and blessings be upon him did because this is a case of necessity.
      The Holy Prophet Peace and blessings be upon him has prohibited us to drink water lying our faces downwards, as he
      prohibited us from  drawing water with the hands, saying:
      "Do not lick the water like a dog and do not taste the water at night before examining it
      out of fear that the recipient is covered during the night."
      If a person drinks by the mouth while standing up from an elevated basin, there would be no
      difference between drinking with the hand or by the mouth, because drinking with the mouth is
      very dangerous if the drinker is lying faced down on his venture.

attetion please every muslim families

kadam veettanulla dua Dua Against Debt

It has been related that Muadh bin Jabal was indebted to a Jew who used to persistently request payment. One Friday, he hid in his house and did not go out to pray the Friday prayer. When the Prophet, upon him be peace, finished his prayer he noticed that Muadh was not present. The following day, when Muadh came, he, upon him be peace, said, ‘O Muadh, you missed the Friday prayer?’

He said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, I have a debt which is due to such and such a person and I do not have anything to pay him with, so I hid. He, upon him be peace, said, ‘shall I teach you a dua that if you had a debt the size of Uhud in gold, Allah would fulfil it.’

‘Of course, O Messenger of Allah,’ he said.

He said, I was consistent in this supplication and my debt was relieved.

Sunnats of Drinking

Sunnats of Drinking Water is a great gift of Allah (The Exalted). Without it we will not survive. Humans as well as animals drink water. Both Muslims as well as non-Muslims drink. Everyone has a different way of drinking. A Muslim's way should be according to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). Hence, when we drink water or any other liquid in accordance to the Sunnah, our drinking becomes a rewardable act.
The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) Liked'
The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) liked sweet and cold water. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) never made a noise whilst drinking water and when he (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) would drink milk, milk shake, (Sharbat) etc. he would give others first and then take himself.
Drinking With The Devil
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that, 'Once the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) saw a person drinking whilst standing, the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) asked him to vomit it back out', the person ask 'Why shall I vomit it out!' the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said 'Surely who drank with you is worse than a cat, that is the devil'.'
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) states that, 'The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) forbade drinking water standing up. It was asked, 'What about eating'' he said, 'That (i.e. eating whilst standing) is even worse'.'
We see Muslims' walking in the town centres today eating and drinking whilst standing. Even at gatherings some eat and drink whilst standing and are ignorant of the Sunnah way. Let us take the sayings of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) seriously and start practising them wherever we are.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) that, 'Do not drink water standing up, if you do it by mistake and you remember then vomit it out.'
This is the importance of drinking whilst sitting. To drink water standing up is disliked (Makrooh-e-Tanzihi ) and we don't want to displease Allah (The Exalted) and His beloved Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). The Sunnah is only beneficial and to save oneself from any harm to the health. It is praiseworthy (Mustahab) to drink the water of ablution standing up also the water of Zam Zam as this is Sunnah.
Zam Zam
Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) states that, 'I presented some Zam Zam water to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) he stood up and drank it.'
Respected brother / sister! We are Muslims and we have been taught the manners of drinking. We should drink whilst sitting as even research has proved that to drink standing is bad for health. Muslims do not pay much attention in the Sunnah manner of drinking. Do not emulate or feel ashamed of the non-Muslims, as we have been given a way which is the best as it is shown by the best of all creation, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). One of the reason's for drinking Zam Zam standing is because it is the Sunnah of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and the other reason is for respect. Mufti Ahmad Yaar Khan Na'eemi (may Allah's mercy be upon him) states that water drank by the pious can also be drank standing up.
Supplication for Zam Zam
Allahumma Innee Asaluka 'Ilman naafiaw Wa Rizqaw Wasi 'Aw-Wa 'Amalan Mutaqabbalaw Wa Shifa ammin Kulli Daa'
'O Allah! I ask You for beneficial knowledge, increase in wealth, accepted deeds and cure from illness'
whatever supplication you make after drinking this blessed water will be accepted. We should make good supplications for yourself, family and the Ummah.
Drinking Like a Camel
Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) that, 'Do not drink water in one breath like a camel. However, drink it in two or three breaths. Say 'Bismillah' and when you move the glass, praise Allah (The Exalted) by saying 'Alhamdulillah.''
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that, 'The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) would breath three times (outside the container) in the course of a drink and said; 'It is more thirst quenching, harmless and healthier.''
Do Not Blow On Hot Stuff
Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said that, 'The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) forbade from breathing or blowing in the container.'
Research proves that when one blows in a hot drink, the bacterium increases in the drink. These bacteria's you will drink and will increase in the stomach, as there is warmth and this will create more illness in the stomach.
Mufti Ahmad Yaar Khan Naeemi (may Allah's Mercy be upon him) writes, 'The tongue that has been engaged in the dhikr of Allah (The Exalted) and the air that is released thereof is a cure for illness.'
Drink From Your Hands
Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) states that, 'Wash your hands and drink from your hands as there is no glass or object cleaner than your hands.'
This is the Sunnah of Prophet Isa (upon whom be peace). You can drink with your hands and use both hands and it is not permissible to drink with just one hand as water is wasted. People may want to practise the Sunnah by drinking with the hands, however, bear in mind that water or any drink is not wasted.
Wasting Water
Some people where with Shaykh Ahmad Raza Khan (may Allah's Mercy be upon him) a person had drank some water and threw the rest away. The Shaykh said, 'You should not throw away the left over water, you could have placed it in another container as at the moment we have plenty of water, this is the reason we do not value a sip of water.'
Suck The Water
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) that, 'Suck the water when drinking, as it will digest easily and prevents illness.'
How Did The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) Drink'
The glass was held in the Prophet's (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) right hand and he would sit down and pray 'Bismillah.' The method of drinking is to take three small sips by sucking the water without making any noise and moving the glass away from the mouth each time and praising Allah (The Exalted) each time by saying 'Alhamdulillah' and at the end the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) would say 'Ash-shukru-Lillahi.'
Respected brother/sister in Islam! If you see any Muslim drinking with their left hand then advise them in a nice way and instruct them to act upon the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and gain the reward of reviving a Sunnah. Jazakallah Khayrah.
Cover The Utensils
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) states that, 'The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) commanded us to cover any utensils, to close the tops of water bags and to turn the containers over.'
This is done when there is nothing to cover the utensils. Specially at night as there is a day in the year where difficulties descend and enters the utensils that are open. In the hadith it states if there is no cover then use a stick (i.e. pen etc.) and recite 'Bismillah' and place on top of the utensils.
Serving
Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said that, 'One who serves should drink last.'
Best Charity
Sa'ad bin 'Ubada (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that, 'I came in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and asked what type of charity do you like' He said, 'Water'.'
Fire In Stomach
Umm Salma (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said that, 'Whosoever drinks from silver enters fire in their stomach.' Allahu Akbar!
In another hadith narrated by Huzaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) forbade eating and drinking from gold or silver and said that, 'These are for the non-believers in this world and for you in the hereafter.'
One should also bear in mind that to wear a watch made from gold or silver or to use a pen with a tip of gold or silver is a sin.
Manners Of Drinking
1. Pray 'Bismillah Hirahma Niraheem' and drink with your right hand as the devil drinks and eats with the left hand.
2. To sit and drink.
3. Drink by taking three separate sips and not all at once. Separate the utensil from the mouth each time.
4. Whilst drinking, suck the drink and do not make a noise.
5. Do not blow into any drink for cooling.
6. Say 'Alhamdulillahi Rabbil 'Aalameen' after drinking.
7. It is not permissible to throw away the left over drink.
8. Always cover the water that is left in a glass, jug or pot.
9. Drink where you can see in the container.
Supplication After Drinking Water
'Alhamdulilla Hilladhi Saqana 'Adhbann Furotann Birrahmatihi Walam Yaj'Alhu Milhann Ujajann Bidhunoo Binaa'
'All praise is due to Allah (The Exalted) who has given us fresh sweet water through His mercy and did not make it salty and bitter due to our sins'
Supplication After Drinking Milk
Pray 'Bismillah' and pray this supplication after drinking milk:
'Allahumma Baarik Lana Feehi Wazidna Minhu'
'O Allah grant us blessings in it (the milk) and increase it for us.'
Milk has both nutrients of food and drink. When a child is born all it has is milk and this is sufficient for so many months. This is why we should thank Allah (The Exalted) and ask Him to increase it for us.
10. Not to drink from a big container like a jug or bottle etc. but from a cup or glass.
11. One should not drink from a chipped end of a cup.
12. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) has prohibited the usage of gold and silver utensils.
13. In the hadith it states, whoever makes utensils make from earth for their house, as the angles visit that house.
14. Drinking water after meals is not the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) especially, if the water is very hot or cold as both are harmful.
15. There is cure from (the drink) that a Muslim has drunk from.
16. One serving should drink last.
17. Nowadays, many people drink with the left hand mostly whilst eating and think it is against the practice to drink with the right hand, the Islamic practice is to drink with the right hand.
18. To cover the utensils when not in use, be it with a stick if nothing else is available.
Imam Shafi states that four things make the body idle, excessive sexual intercourse, too much thinking, too much drinking of water when hungry, and too much pepper.
The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) would use utensils for drinking made from earth. He had a wooden cup , which had on its exterior a metal handle, and he would drink liquids from this. In another narration narrated by ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) it is reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) had a glass cup.
O Allah (The Exalted) give us the ability to practise the Sunnah of Your beloved Messenger (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) whilst we drink. Ameen.

Most Common Mistakes to Avoid During Salah niskaram

Salah is the most commonly used obligatory form of worship opted by Muslims. It is the second pillar of Islam and it is obligatory upon every Muslim woman and man to offer Salah five times a day. Salah symbolizes humility and submission therefore, when offering it a Muslim needs to observe this spirit and keep the prayer void of any kind of arrogance or haste.

Although Muslims are aware of the importance and significance of Salah, however, while offering it people make different kinds of mistakes, that are obviously are mistakenly done however if they are not corrected it can become  a habit that can mar the whole spirit of offering Salah. The lines below discuss the most common mistakes committed while offering Salah and how to avoid them.
Praying In The Wrong Direction:
Most of the people just get an idea of the direction but do not pay heed to finding the correct direction to Qibla. The direction of Qibla is very important for prayer and it cannot be taken casually. Moreover, being in an unknown place raises its importance even more. Therefore, a Muslim must try to locate Qibla direction properly and then stand for prayer. In this regard, one could as simply as ask someone, or use The Smartphone Application Qibla Finder developed by QuranReading.com. The app is the best solution for people who are on the go frequently or are in some unknown place.
Fast Recitation of Quran:
The recitation of Quran is an integral part of Salah. Some of the Muslims because of some haste or out of habit recite Quran quickly during the prayer. Although it serves the purpose but it does not help in the spirit of offering prayer that is humility and submissiveness. Therefore, whenever a Muslim is praising Allah in prayer, he or she should take it slowly and mean every word by heart.
Moving Before in Congregation:
Perhaps the most common mistake that people commit during congregational prayer is moving before the Imam. People would either go into Ruku, Sujood or stand back in Qayaam before even the Imam does it. This is not permissible in offering prayer and a Muslim should avoid it strictly.
Being Hasty:
Although it is permissible in Islam to shorten the Salah if there is some important matter at hand after the prayer, however, making it a habit is not something that is recommended in Islam. As discussed earlier, Salah is all about being humble and feeling if the person is in the court of Allah. this spirit cannot be acheiveed if one performs Salah hastily and just getting over with it. Therefore, a Muslim must offer Salah with calmness and ease.
Conclusion:
In short, Salah is all about being humble, submissive and down to earth. Therefore, whatever features contradict with this spirit should be avoided while offering in order to make sure that it is not just an exercise, rather it goes with the spirit it is supposed to be offered in the rightful manner.

dowry in islam mahr streedhanam haram

The Mahr (Dowry)
The mahr (dowry) is something that is paid by the man to his wife. It is paid to the wife and to her only as an honor and a respect given to her and to show that he has a serious desire to marry her and is not simply entering into the marriage contract without any sense of responsibility and obligation or effort on his part.
It has been referred to by many names in the texts and the books of fiqh:
* An-Nihla : Gift
* Al-Faridha : Prescribed amount or obligation
* Al-Hibaa' : Gift or present
* Al-Ajr : Payment or compensation
* Al-'Uqr : Indemnity
* Al-'Alaa'iq : Precious things, provision
* As-Sadaqa : Sincere gift or charity
* At-Tawl : Ability
* An-Nikah : Marriage
One of the more common names for it is Al-Sadaq which comes from the word sidq meaning honesty or sincerity. As-San'ani (Book: Subul As-Salaam) explains its significance: "It indicates the sincerity of the husband's desire for his wife. In the religious laws before us the dowry used to go to the guardians."
Proof that the Mahr is Obligatory
Allah says in the Qur'an:
"And give the women their dowries with a good heart..." [Noble Quran 4:4]
This verse is addressed to either the husbands or the guardians. It is addressed to the husbands because it is their responsibility to pay the dowry. It could also be addressed to the guardians, not because they have to pay the dowry, but because in pre-Islamic jahiliya (and in much of today's "post-Islamic" jahiliya), they used to take the dowry of the women and not give it to them. This verse shows that the dowry must be given to the women and not kept by the guardians. The following verses also shows the obligatory nature of paying the dowry to the women:
"...So for that pleasure which you have enjoyed from them, give them their prescribed compensation.. " [Noble Quran 4:24]
"...All others have been made lawful for you provided you seek (them in marriage) with your property..." [Noble Quran 4:24]
Regarding one of the Companions who was poor and wished to marry, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him:
"Search for something, even if it is just a ring made from iron." [Bukhari & Muslim]
Is the Dowry a Part of the Marriage Contract?
The above has established that the dowry is obligatory. Now the question arises as to whether or not it (i.e., its specification and agreement on its amount) is one of the arkaan or the shurut of the marriage contract. In other words, is it valid to have a marriage contract in which the dowry is not stated? Apparently, the dowry is the right of the wife but does not form part of the marriage contract itself. This is based on the following clear verse in the Qur'an in which divorce is mentioned in a case where no dowry was agreed upon. Obviously, there can be no divorce if there was no marriage in the first place.
"There is no sin upon you if you divorce women before touching them or assigning for them a dowry. And give them provision - upon the wealthy what is appropriate and upon he of limited resources what is appropriate - a provision based on the best (the "known"), an obligation upon the doers of good." [Noble Quran 2:236]
This does not mean that it is recommended or preferable not to mention the dowry at the time of the marriage contract. Ibn Taimia, for example, mentions that the amount of the mahr should be mentioned at the time of the marriage in order to eliminate the chance for dispute later. This part of his argument should be extremely clear and obvious to all. His opinion was that the dowry is a shart or rukn of the marriage, in agreement with the Maliki school, as stated earlier. That seems to be the weaker of the opinions, however. In short, there are three distinct cases:
A case where the parties agree not to pay any dowry. This is not permissible and the contract is either valid with the man being forced to pay an appropriate dowry, or it is completely invalid (the Maliki opinion).
A case where the dowry is mentioned and agreed upon at the time of the marriage contract. This is clearly the best approach and is agreed upon by all as the most complete and perfect form. The main benefit of this approach is that it greatly reduces the possibility of dispute in the future.
A case where no dowry is mentioned or agreed upon at the time of the contract. This contract is sound and valid and the woman is entitled to the dowry that they agree upon later. If they don't specifically agree on a dowry, then she is entitled to "mahru al-mithl " which means: "the dowry which is given to women similar to her."
The Maximum and Minimum Amount of the Dowry
There are no authentic hadith or reports explicitly stating a minimum or maximum amount of dowry. All hadith which explicitly state such things are weak narrations. However, some scholars have relied on implicit conclusions from specific reports to determine an answer to the question of there being a minimum or maximum.
There is no maximum limit for the dowry. Allah described the dowry in the Qur'an with the following words:
"And if you wish to replace a wife with another and you have given one of them a heap of gold, do not take anything from it. Would you take it as a fraud and a clear sin?" [Noble Quran 4:20]
The word qintar means a very large amount of gold and if it is permissible to give such as mahr, this shows that there is no maximum limit to the amount one may give as mahr.
The Story of Umar Intending to Limit Dowries
The famous and widely heard story about Umar ibn Al-Khattab attempting to prohibit large dowries from the minbar and being corrected by one of the women Companions with the above verse is a weak hadith which has no validity. What is authentic is that Umar advised people not to be excessive in dowries, but not that he prohibited people from agreeing among themselves on dowries of any amount.
The Minimum Amount of the Dowry
There are five distinct opinions concerning the minimum amount required for something to be considered acceptable as a dowry.
The First Opinion
The minimum dowry is ten dirham (somewhere around ten dollars or the price of a goat today). This is based on the hadith:
"There is no mahr less then ten dirhams."
While Ibn Hajr found this hadith to be "hassan", most other scholars of hadith judged it as weak. Also, it is in contradiction to the hadith cited earlier about the iron ring - which would not have been worth that amount.
The Second Opinion
According to the Malikis, the minimum required for a dowry is three dirhams. It must be something legal according to the shari'a which can be handed over to the wife. It must be a specified amount. Their argument, also, is that in their school, this is the minimum amount for which the thief gets the punishment of cutting. They also cite the verse:
"And whoever of you does not have the means to wed free believing women, so from the believing women that your right hands possess... " [Noble Quran 4:25]
Their argument is that at-taul means wealth and one who does not have three dirhams is not considered as possession any wealth. However, there are other interpretations about what the word means in this verse.
The Third Opinion
This opinion states that anything that can be called "wealth " (maal) and is accepted by the parties is permissible as the dowry. In essence, this opinion states that there is no minimum for the dowry. This is the opinion of the Shafi'is, Hanbalis, Dhahiris, Ibn Wahb of the Malikis, Al-Hassan Al-Basri and others. It is supported by the verse:
"...All others have been made lawful for you provided you seek (them in marriage) with your property... " [Noble Quran 4:24]
The Fourth Opinion
Anything which can be called shai'an (a "thing ") is acceptable as dowry. This is the opinion of Ibn Hazm and is based on the first part of the hadith about the ring of iron where the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Search for something. " He said: I have nothing. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Search for something, even if it is just a ring made from iron." [Bukhari & Muslim]
The Fifth Opinion
Anything which has value, regardless of whether it be something material or something non-material, is acceptable as dowry. According to Ibn Al-Qayyim, this is the strongest opinion. In fact, it seems to be the only opinion which takes into consideration all of the different hadith related to the subject. For example, Umm Sulaim accepted Abu Talha's embracing of Islam as her mahr. On another occasion, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) accepted as dowry what a person knew of the Qur'an saying:
"Go, for I have put her under your charge with what you have of the Qur'an. " [Bukhari & Muslim]
In other words, his mahr was to teach the woman what he knew of the Qur'an.

death in islam maranam quranil

MARANAM MARANAM M ARANAM
Death is a reality in which all human beings believe. However, it is also a reality which most of us like to keep out of our minds.
In Islam, death is not an end to our existence; it is a passage, which takes us from this world to the hereafter – the actual purpose for our creation and the result of our work in this life. Whether we fear death or not depends on how much we have prepared for the reckoning of the Day of Judgement.
Preparing for death is a lifetime’s job. It begins on the day you reach the age of bulugh and are held accountable for your deeds in the eyes of Almighty Allah. Imam ‘Ali bin Abu Talib (a.s.) has beautifully described the preparation for death as follows: “Fulfilling the obligations, refraining from forbidden [things, and acquiring noble character.”
In this article, I have attempted to present some of the things which all believers are either required or strongly urged to do just before death by the shari’ah.

In Preparation for Death

Before death, try your best to fulfil the obligations, which are upon you in regard to the creatures as well as the Creator
Return to the owners whatever has been given to you as a trust or write it down in your will so that the executor of your will shall return the trust to its rightful owner.
In Islam, you are allowed to dispose up to one-third of your estate for whomsoever or whatever cause you like. As for the two thirds, it must be distributed among your heirs according to the shares allocated for them in the shari’ah.
Make a will in writing or verbally about those religious obligations which you could not fulfil by yourself and which cannot be done on your behalf by others except after your death: the qadha prayers, fasting and pilgrimage (hajj), etc. You should specify the amount from the one-third of your estate to be used to hire people to do such deeds. If you cannot afford this, then you may request your heirs to do unfulfilled rituals on your behalf voluntarily or pay someone else to do so.
It is also recommended, if your financial circumstances allow you, to include your deserving relations in the one-third of your estate.
It is recommended to forgive your brethren in iman for whatever wrong they may have done to you. On the other hand, you should ask your brethren in iman to forgive you for the intentional and unintentional wrong you may have done to them.

At The Time of Death

When death approaches you, it is wajib on you to lie down on your back in such a way that the soles of your feet face the qiblah (direction of Mecca). Or you may turn your bed in such a way that your soles will face the qiblah. If you cannot do so yourself, then it is wajib on those who are with you to help you.
It is recommended to say by yourself or repeat after someone else the declaration of faith and statement of faraj.
The declaration of faith: It is a declaration in which you reconfirm your belief in Allah, Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.), the twelve Imams (a.s.), the Qu’ran, and the Day of Judgement.
This may be done as follows:
Radhitbu bil-lahi Rabban;
Wa bi Muhammadin (sal-lal-lahu ‘alayhi wa alihi) nabiyyan;
Wa bil Islami dinan;
Wa bil Qur’ani kitaban;
Wa bil Ka’bati qiblatan;
Wa bi’ Aliyyan waliyyan wa imaman;
Wa bil Hasan, wal Husayn, wa ‘Aliy-yib nil Husayn;
Wa Muhammad bin ‘Aliyyan,
Wa Jafar ibn Muhammadin;
Wa Musa ibn Ja’farin, wa ‘Ali yibn Musa;
Wa Muhammad ibn Aliyyin; wa Ali yibn Muhammadin;
Wal Hasan ibn ‘Aliyyin; wal Hujjat ibnil Hasan
(salawatul-lahi ‘alayhim) aimmatan wa sadatan wa qadatan;
Bi him atawalla, wa min a’da’ihim ata-barra
Wa an-nas sa’ata atiyatun la rayba fiha;
Wa annal-laha yab’athu man fil qubur;
Wa annal hisaba haqqun; wa annal jannata haqqun;
Wa annan nar haqqun
I have accepted Allah as the Lord, Muhammad (s.a.w.) as the Prophet, Islam as the religion, the Qur’an as the Book [of God, the Ka’bah as the qiblah.
And [I accept ‘Ali as the waliy [of Allah and [my Imam; and Hassan, Hussein, ‘Ali ibn Hussein, Muhammad ibn ‘Ali, Ja’far ibn Muhammad, Musa ibn Ja’far, ‘Ali ibn Musa, Muhammad ibn ‘Ali, ‘Ali ibn Muhammad, Hassan ibn ‘Ali, and al-Hujat ibn al-Hassan (a.s.) as Imams, leaders and guides – I declare my love for them and declare my disassociation with their enemies.
And [I believe that surely the Hour [of Doom will come in which there is no doubt; and that Allah will resurrect all those who are in their graves. And [I believe that the reckoning [of our deeds is the truth; the Paradise is the truth and that the Hell is the truth.
B. The statement of faraj is to be recited as follows:
La ilahah il-lal lahu Halimul Karim;
La ilaha il-lal lahu ‘Aliyyul ‘Azim;
Subhana ‘l-laha Rabbus samawatis sab’i
Wa Rabbul ardhinas sab’i;
Wa ma fee hinna wa ma bayna hunna
Wa ma fawqa hunna wa ma tahta hunna;
Wa Rabbul ‘arshil ‘azim;
Wal hamdu lil-lahi Rabbis ‘alameen.
There is no god but Allah, the Gentle, the Kind;
There is no god but Allah, the High, the Great;
All praise be to Allah, the Lord of the seven heavens and the lord of the seven earth’s, and whatever is in them and whatever is between them, and whatever is above them and whatever is below them; and [He is the Lord of the Great Throne.
And all praise be to Allah, the lord of the Universe.
It is recommended to move the dying person to his/her usual place of prayer in the home. This is recommended only if it does not cause pain or inconvenience to the dying person.
It is recommended to recite two surahs, Yasin (no. 36) and as-Saffat (no. 37), near the dying person. According to the traditions, this will relive the pangs of death.

After The Death

• Soon after a person dies, it is recommended to do the following things:
• Close the eye-lids of the dead person
• Close the mouth of the dead person
• Tie the two jaws so that the mouth does not open
• Straighten his/her arms and place them on the two sides of his body
• Straighten his/her legs
• Cover the dead body
• Switch on the light in the room where the dead body is kept
• Arrange the funeral as soon as possible
• Inform the mu’mineen to attend the funeral.

After Death Rituals

They cover Ghusl/Kafan/Dafan i.e., washing, shrouding, and burying. Basically, these are Wajib (obligatory) acts for all of us but Kifai - Wajibe Kifai, which means if one or more persons undertake to do, others are absolved. Else it is wajib on everyone.
Therefore, it is essential for all of us to know the basics of burial rituals in case we are called upon to perform them when it becomes obligatory for us to do so according to the Shar’ia.

First Obligatory Wajib Act Ghusl-e-Mayyit (Ritual Wash of the Dead Body)

It is wajib to give three Ghusls to a Muslim dead body.
• First Ghusl with water mixed with Sidr (berry or lotus) leaves.
• Second Ghusl with water mixed with camphor.
• Third Ghusl with pure water.
Note: The quantity of “Sidr” leaves or camphor should neither be so much that the water becomes mixed (Mudhaf), nor so little that it may be said that “Sidr” leaves or camphor has not been added in it.
Q) When Ghusl Mayyit is performed with water mixed with SIDR and with water mixed with CAMPHOR, care should be taken in each case that the water does not become muzaf.
When SIDR and especially CAMPHOR is mixed in water for Ghusl Mayyit, even in small quantity, certainly a change in SMELL AND TASTE will occur. Would not that constitute to water that has been mixed with SIDR or CAMPHOR having become Muzaf?
In the case of Ghusl Mayyit using water mixed with Sidr and with water mixed with Camphor, what is one required to do to ensure that while there is presence of Sidr or Camphor in the water, it has not become MUZAF?
A) Mutlaq water remains Mutlaq even with change in color, smell or taste.
The Katheer (big quantity) water becomes Najis if it's color or smell or taste changes becoming like the Najis item's color, smell or taste.
Water mixed with Sidr or Camphor remains Mutlaq in spite of the change of smell or taste of it, as far as the quantity of the Sidr or Camphor is not too much. (M.M.)
Q) If I am giving Ghusle Mayyit and wearing hand gloves. Do I have to perform Ghusle Mase Mayyit?
A) As long as you have not touched the Meyyit with your bare hand and no part of your body touched the Meyyit, then you do not need to perform Ghusl of Maseh Meyyit.
Q) If a foetus of 4 months or more is still-born it is obligatory to give it Ghusl, and even if it has not completed four months, but it has formed features of a human child, it must be given Ghusl, as a precaution. In the event of both of these circumstances being absent, the foetus will be wrapped up in a cloth and buried without Ghusl.
Am I correct to understand that besides Ghusl, it will also be wajib to give Tahnit and Kafan?
A) Whenever Ghusl is Wajib then Hunut and Kafan are also required. (H.K.)
Q) When giving Tayammum to a Meyyit, is it necessary that the palms of the person doing Tayammum to a Meyyit must be placed on the forehead of the Meyyit in such a way that his right palm is on the right side of the forehead of a Mayyit and his left palm is placed on the left side of the forehead of a Mayyit.
Similarly, is it also necessary that he should be stroking the right hand of the Meyyit (from the wrist-joint to the end of the fingers) with his left palm followed by passing his right palm over the back of the Meyyit's left hand.
A) That is not obligatory.
A person giving tayammum to the dead body should strike his own palms on earth and then wipe them on the face and back of the hands of the dead body. And the recommended precaution is that he should, if possible, use the hands of the dead for its tayammum. (L.O.)

Method of Performing Ghusl-e-Mayyit

Ghusl for a dead body is similar to Ghusl of Janabat. It should be given by way of Tartibi. The obligatory precaution is that a corpse should not be given Ghusl Irtimase.

Dreams in Islam

Dreams in Islam
The good dream of a man who is salih is a forty-sixth part of prophecy

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ishaq ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Talha al-Ansari from Anas ibn Malik that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "The good dream of a man who is salih is a forty-sixth part of prophecy." Yahya related the like of that to me from Malik from Abu'z-Zinad from al-Araj from Abu Hurayra from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Maliks Muwatta Book 52, Number 52.1.1
True dreams are a part of Prophethood, as it was reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “True dreams are one of the forty-six parts of Prophethood.” (al-Bukhaari, 6472; Muslim, 4201)
Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "The first revelation that was granted to the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) was the true dream in a state of sleep,’ so that he never dreamed a dream but the truth of it shone forth like the dawn of the morning...."
So why are dreams 1/46th forty-six parts of Prophethood. Because Dreams marked the onset of Revelation (al-Bukhaari, 3; Muslim, 231). The first Wahy (revelation) came down for Six Months. And Wahy (revelation) lasted 23 years. So the first Wahy being 6 months ( beause 2 six months = 1 Year) 2 x 23 years = 46 months. Thus Dreams are 1/46th part Prophethood. So now you know why 46th is mentioned but not explained before by anyone one on the net, this i found out while listening to Shaykh Muhammad Yaqubi's CD The Perfect_Mirror_Seeing_the Prophet(pbuh)_in_Our_Dreams : Proofs and Interpretations (audio CD). The Shaykh tells about describes over ninety ways the Prophet (sal Allahu `alayhi wa salam) appears in people's dreams, giving the interpretation of each dream: If you see the Prophet (sal Allahu `alayhi wa salam) with his hands open, you will perform Hajj. If you see him leaning, your worries and difficulties will be removed. If he hands you a book, you will become a teacher. If he gives you bread, you will attain wealth. If he offers you honey, you will memorize the Qur'an. If he appears beardless or having a short beard, it means you lack righteousness and should strive to improve.....
The truthfulness of the dream is related to the sincerity of the dreamer. Those who have the most truthful dreams are those who are the most truthful in speech. (Muslim, 4200) Towards the end of time, hardly any dreams will be untrue. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allahbe upon him) said: “That will be because the Prophethood and its effects will be so far away in time, so the believers will be given some compensation in the form of dreams which will bring them some good news or will help them to be patient and steadfast in their faith.” (al-Bukhaari, 6499; Muslim, 4200)
Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (Peace be upon him) (The Holy Prophet Muhammed) as saying: "When the time draws near (when the Resurrection is near) a believer’s dream can hardly be false. And the truest vision will be of one who is himself the most truthful in speech, for the vision of a Muslim is the forty-fifth part of Prophecy, and dreams are of three types: One, a good dream which is a sort of good tidings from Allah; the evil dream which causes pain and is from Satan; and the third one is a suggestion of one’s own mind; so if any one of you sees a dream which he does not like he should stand up and offer prayer and he should not relate it to people…."
The same may be said of the miracles which appeared after the time of the Sahaabah. This did not happen during their time because they did not need them, due to their strong faith, but the people who came after them needed them (the miracles) because their faith was weak.
Dreams are of three types
Rahmaani
(those that come from Allah)
Nafsaani (psychological, they come from within a person)
Shaytaani
(those that come from the Shaytaan).

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Dreams are of three types: a dream from Allah, a dream which causes distress and which comes from the Shaytaan, and a dream which comes from what a person thinks about when he is awake, and he sees it when he is asleep.” (al-Bukhaari, 6499; Muslim, 4200)
The dreams of the Prophets are wahy (revelation) for they are protected from the Shaytaan. The Ummah is agreed upon this. This is why Ibrahim set out to fulfil the command of Allah to sacrifice his son Ismaa'eel when he saw that in a dream; may peace be upon them both. The dreams of people other than the Prophets are to be examined in the light of the clear Wahy [i.e., the Qur'an and Sunnah]. If they are in accordance with the Qur'aan and Sunnah, all well and good.
How see the Noble Prophet Peace and blessings be upon him 1000 times
Whoever wants to have true dreams should strive to speak honestly, eat halaal food, adhere to the commandments of shari'ah, avoid that which Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) have forbidden, sleep in a state of complete purity facing the Qiblah, and remember Allah until he feels his eyelids drooping. If he does all this, then his dreams can hardly be untrue.
The most truthful of dreams are those that are seen at the time of suhoor [just before dawn], for this is the time when Allah descends and when mercy and forgiveness are close. It is also the time when the devils are quiet, unlike the time of darkness just after sunset, when the devils and devilish souls spread out. (See Madaarij al-Saalikeen, 1/50-52)
So understanding this how to i see the how see the Noble Prophet Peace and blessings be upon him, Well Shaykh Muhammad Yaqubi's Says by Studying the Shamail_of_Imam_Tirmidhi1. Shamil_link2 which are the outward appearence of the Noble Prophet peace and blessings be upon him, like his Noble Features, merits, conduct, practices, and qualities such as his Clothing, Eating, Shoes, Hair ,laughing, walk,sitting,....
Al-Haafiz ibn Hajar said: All dreams are either of two types:
True dreams. These are the dreams of the Prophets and of the righteous people who follow them. They may also happen to other people, but this is very rare, such as the dream of the kaafir king which was interpreted for him by Yusuf (peace be upon him). True dreams are those which come true in real life as they were seen in the dream.
Mixed up false dreams, which warn of something. These are of different types:
A. games of the Shaytaan to make a person distressed, such as when he sees his head cut off and he is following it, or he sees himself falling into a crisis and cannot find anyone to save him from it, and so on.
B. When he sees some of the angels telling him to do something forbidden, or other things that cannot possibly make sense.
C. When he sees something that happens to him in real life, or he wishes it would happen, and he sees it very realistically in his dream; or he see what usually happens to him when he is awake or what reflects his mood. These dreams usually speak of the future or the present, rarely of the past. See: Fath al-Baari , 12/352-354
Abu Sa'eed al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “If any one of you sees a dream that he likes, this is from Allah, so let him praise Allah for it and talk about it to others. If he sees other than that, a dream that he dislikes, this is from the Shaytaan, so let him seek refuge with Allahfrom its evil and not mention it to anyone, for it will not harm him.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6584, and Muslim, 5862).
Abu Qutaadah said: the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allahbe upon him) said: “Good dreams come from Allah, and (bad) dreams come from Shaytaan. Whoever sees something that he dislikes, let him spit to his left three times and seek refuge with Allahfrom the Shaytaan, for it will not harm him.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6594, and Muslim, 5862). The “spitting” referred to here is a soft, dry spitting with no saliva ejected.
It was reported from Jaabir (may Allahbe pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allahbe upon him) said: “If any one of you sees a dream that he dislikes, let him spit to his left three times, and seek refuge with Allahfrom the Shaytaan three times, and turn over from the side on which he was sleeping.” (Narrated by Muslim, 5864)
Ibn Hajar said: to sum up what has been said about good dreams, we may say three things:
1. A person should praise Allahfor the good dream
2. He should feel happy about it
3. He should talk about it to those whom he loves but not to those whom he dislikes.

To sum up what has been said about bad dreams, we may say four things:

1. He should seek refuge with Allahfrom the evil of the dream
2. He should seek refuge with Allahfrom the evil of the Shaytaan
3. He should spit to his left three times when he wakes up
4. He should not mention it to anyone at all.
In al-Bukhaari, Baab al-Qayd fi'l-Manaam, a fifth thing was narrated from Abu Hurayrah, which is to pray. The wording of the report is: whoever sees something he dislikes (in a dream) should not tell anyone about it; rather he should get up and pray. This was reported as a Mawsool report by Imaam Muslim in his Saheeh .
Muslim added a sixth thing, which is to turn over from the side on which one was lying.
In conclusion, there are six things to do, the four mentioned above, plus praying two rak'ahs, for example, and turning over from the side on which one was lying to lie on one's back, for example. See Fath al-Baari , 12/370.
According to a hadith narrated from Abu Razeen by al-Tirmidhi, he should not tell anybody about it except a very close friend who loves him very much, or who is very wise. According to another report, he should not talk about it except to one who is wise or one who is dear to him. According to another report, he should not tell of his dream except to a scholar or one who will give sincere advice. Al-Qaadi Abu Bakr ibn al-‘Arabi said: as for the scholar, he will interpret it in a good way for him as much as he can, and the one who will give him sincere advice will teach him something that will be of benefit to him and will help him to do that. The one who is wise is the one who knows how to interpret it and will tell him only that which will help him, otherwise he will keep quiet. The one who is dear, if he knows something good he will say it, and if he does not know or he is in doubt, he will keep quiet. See Fath al-Baari , 12/369
...Since only one to whom Allah Almighty has given the power can interpret dreams correctly, to the average person dreams seem nonsensical to a certain extent, since he or she does not, in fact, possess the mental capability to perceive or to unravel their meaning. Dreams are, then, messages in a code superior to that with which the brain can cope in certain cases. However, other dreams may be very simple and true. There are many traditions regarding Hadith dreams.

Know that the interpretation of dreams falls into various categories
Dreams may be interpreted in the light of the Qur'aan or in the light of the Sunnah, or by means of the proverbs that are current among people, or by names and metaphors, or in terms of opposites. ( Sharh al-Sunnah , 12/220) Imaam al-Baghawi said:
He gave examples of this, such as:
Interpretation in the light of the Qur'aan: such as a rope meaning a covenant, because Allahsays (interpretation of the meaning): “And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allah…” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:103]
Interpretation in the light of the Sunnah: such as the crow representing an immoral man ( faasiq ), because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allahbe upon him) called it such.
Interpretation by means of proverbs: such a digging a hole meaning a plot, because people say “Whoever digs a hole will fall in it.”
Interpretation by means of names: such as seeing a man called Raashid meaning wisdom.
Interpretation by means of opposites: such as fear meaning safety, because Allahsays (interpretation of the meaning): “And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear” [al-Noor 24:55]
Commentary in Kitab al-Ruya
The problem of seeing dreams in sleep or a semi-wakeful state of mind is, from the point of view of psychology, a highly complex phenomenon about which much has been written. We need not go into the details of this phenomenon in the light of the modern or old theories of dreams. What we learn from the Quran and Hadith is that dreams are mainly of three types.

One is the dream or the vision of the Prophets. These dreams are always true, as these are revelations from God to His Messengers (may Allah be pleased with them).

So far as the dreams of the ordinary persons are concerned, these can be divided into two kinds.
One is the vision seen by the noble and pious men in a state of mind when even in sleep the lower elements in the soul are dominated by the noble elements in man. Thus their dreams represent a truth. These types of dreams have been called as forty-fifth or forty-sixth or even seventieth part of prophecy.’

These cannot be called authentic prophecies because no other human being, besides the Prophets, can have complete control over his lover elements in the state of sleep and thus remain absolutely free from its effects. There is, however, no denying the fact that the unconscious and subconscious mind of the noble man is dominated by noble longings and desires; he therefore receives in the dream suggestion from the Divine, but this suggestion is never held to the immune from error as is the case with the prophetic suggestions of the Prophets.

The second type of dream which has been called HULM in the Quran and the Sunnah is in fact the expression of one’s suppressed carnal desires. This is what has been termed in the Hadith as a vision emanating from the devil.
